Manchester City’s £50m bid for Kevin De Bruyne accepted

The transfer saga surrounding Kevin De Bruyne could soon be over as Wolfsburg have accepted a €70m offer from Manchester City, according to German newspaper Bild.

De Bruyne, 24, was sold by the Blues to Wolfsburg in 2014 for a reported £16.7 million after he struggled to force his way into the first team at Stamford Bridge.

The fee for Otamendi is £33m which, when combined with the £49m the club paid Liverpool for Raheem Sterling, represents a major investment in the City squad which would be increased further by the purchase of De Bruyne.

Reports suggested Manchester City had made bids of more than £40 million, with more in the pipeline, but Wolfsburg were prepared to offer De Bruyne a bumper contract to make him stay.

When it comes to being really bitter about things, there is no comparison to Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho.

If you have a player knocking on your door and crying every day he wants to leave, you have to make a decision.

The Belgian was named Germany’s player of the season in 2014/15 and has been outstanding for Wolfsburg since signing from Chelsea in January 2014.

“You compare it today when somebody pays for him what somebody would’ve payed for Messi or Cristiano then it looks in the eyes of the world like we did bad business”. He was an upset kid, training very bad. I had four fantastic years of my career and my life in Barcelona. We’re trying to find one between the clubs. “We are in a good moment, we haven’t conceded a goal in the last two games so we will continue playing in the same way”. I’m not happy with anyone. I played them four times at Inter.
