Barca, chasing a sixth La Liga title in eight years, are looking to bounce back from a chastening 5-1 aggregate defeat to Bilbao in this month’s Spanish Super Cup.

‘We play well as a team and we make mistakes as a team as well.

Barca did, however, lose both Sergio Busquets, who was carried off on a stretcher, and Dani Alves to injury, with its website confirming the players will undergo tests to determine the severity of their injuries on Monday. “We’re working on strengthening the team because we counted on Pedro“.

“We started the season off on a very high level and avoided getting into a position that allowed Athletic to create risky situations. We played a very complete game“, he said.

“This is a contact sport and we weren’t the fortunate ones today, even though I don’t think the injuries are serious”. They hope to stay further ahead of the drop this season, signing experienced players Fernando Navarro (center-back) and Cani (winger) on free transfers.

They have brought in Turkey playmaker Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid and versatile Spanish fullback Aleix Vidal from Sevilla since winning the treble last term but neither can play until January.
