Turkish side Besiktas have entered into talks with Liverpool about the possibility of taking Lucas Leiva on loan for the campaign.

But the 28-year-old appeared in only 20 Premier League fixtures in 2014-15 and has been left out of both matchday squads so far this season.
Lucas Leiva’s first team opportunities have become limited and he looks set to leave Liverpool. The Echo has previously reported that Lucas could be available for a fee of around £8 million.
The Brazilian midfielder has been told he’s surplus to requirements by Brendan Rodgers this summer with the Northern Irish boss planning to use Emre Can in defensive midfield.

Besiktas director Erol Kaynar revealed that they are now in talks to finalize the terms of his loan deal which is expected to be completed in the next 48 hours.
While Lucas could well be returning to Anfield ahead of next season, the fact that few players have managed to work their way back in Rodgers’ plans once they have fallen out of favour would suggest that his time on Merseyside is at an end.

I have no real issue with Lucas leaving as long as Liverpool bring in another dedicated defensive/holding midfielder (during the current transfer window) to replace him.
