Speculation rises as Biden meets popular Democrat
Vice-President Joe Biden on Saturday left the seclusion of the Delaware home where he has been weighing a presidential run, to meet Elizabeth Warren – another influential Democrat who has faced calls to enter the 2016 race.

The unusual weekend huddle with Warren, a Massachusetts senator, took place at the Naval Observatory, the vice president’s official residence.
“The Vice President traveled last minute to Washington, D.C. for a private meeting and will be returning to Delaware”, the official wrote in an email.
The Times adds that the Vice President’s supporters “argue that given the unpredictability of a campaign season in which both Bernie Sanders and Donald J. Trump have won a following, it is folly to dismiss Mr. Biden’s chances”.
“But I don’t know, assuming she could get over that, which I just don’t know how she possibly can, but if assuming she could, I would say it would be pretty equal”.
“As much as this is about the vacuum in the Democratic Party and some of Hillary’s weaknesses, it’s also about Elizabeth Warren’s strength”, said New York Times reporter Ashley Parker. “There’s been this perceived tension between Clinton and Warren, and here he is, if that’s the case, the reason for the visit, reaching out to this senator in the Democratic party that many see as being at odds with some of the issues Clinton stands for”.
Longtime Clinton confidante James Carville says Vice President Joe Biden has a “track record” of losing. It would give mainstream Democrats who don’t want to associate with Sanders a reasonable alternative to Hillary and motivate even more liberals to abandon her cause.
Brown predicted that the controversy surrounding Clinton’s use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state could continue to haunt her campaign, and that her current status as the front-runner could change.
He also sought his party’s nomination in 1998 and 2008.
Other news that might influence Biden is a recent poll that showed his strength.
Biden’s aides are additionally eyeing the primary Democratic main debate – on October. 13 – as probably a make-or-break second.
Mr Biden, who previously ran in 1988 and 2008, is said to have thought more seriously about a run following an appeal from his dying son Beau Biden, who passed away in May this year.
