Gerrard said ahead of the game: “I’m sure Frank agrees, it’s slightly embarrassing to have all the focus on you when its LA Galaxy v New York”.

In the 70th minute, Steven Gerrard made a run into the box, passed it off to Zardes, who gave it right back to Gerrard, who then flicked the ball through to Sebastian Lletget, who tapped it in for his first goal since August. 1 against Colorado.

LA – Robbie Keane (Assisted by Giovani dos Santos) 54′.

A minute later however, it was all too easy for LA as Robbie Keane streaked down the left touchline unimpeded before squaring to Keane inside the box. The team that scores first gets the lift, the team that’s scored on gets deflated. However, there are still seven games to be played, and the Galaxy must continue to play well if they want the best record in the league. The goal was Keane’s 18th of the season, tying him with David Villa to move up to 3rd in the Golden Boot race. “We will have an entire week to try to get him involved in full trainings and fit for next weekend”. “The level is a lot stronger than what other people suggested when I came”. We were playing well and nearly scored a goal but them we stopped doing what we were doing. By the time he opened NYCFC’s scoring from the penalty spot in the 80th minute, he’d spent much of the game with his hands in the air or on his face.

Even against such long odds, hope shouldn’t be abandoned just yet. the explosive playmaking punch of PPV – Pirlo, Poku the Punisher, and Villa: pay-per view stuff, right there – is not a thing with which to trifle.

Villa, Pirlo and Lampard – had recently taken part in a photoshoot that saw them wearing just a vest and a pair of shorts as they posed on stools with glistening skin, deliberately moistened for the shoot. “But we understand it. We’ve played together for so many years and we’ve also been rivals, Liverpool v Chelsea, so we understand that element of it as well”. Gerrard did not find the net and squandered a glorious chance late in the game as he attempted to set up Keane for a hat-trick.

“We didn’t expect that, we know that is what they do but we played well for the first 20 to 25 minutes handling that but after the first goal everything changed”. Josh Saunders could do nothing about the shot as Keane lifted it above the goalkeeper for the goal.
