Justina Mintz/AMCThe characters on “Fear the Walking Dead” will be years behind those on “The Walking Dead“. It centers on East Los Angeles teachers Madison (Kim Dickens) and Travis (Cliff Curtis), a couple attempting to blend their lives and their teenage children from previous relationships. We’re talking about a five-disc set with every episode from Season 5, plus audio commentaries, deleted scenes, “Making of” and individual character features and much more.
Later this month, AMC will premiere a spin-off companion series to its hit series “The Walking Dead“.
The first season of Fear The Walking Dead will comprise six episodes and is set to premiere on AMC on August 23, and the network has already ordered a second season to follow in 2016.
The special 90-minute pilot of Fear the Walking Dead will be written by Robert Kirkman and David Erickson. We don’t really expect that it will be anywhere close to the original series, but so long as it generates solid ratings and the numbers for the flagship show stay relatively steady, all will be fine.
Nick, Madison’s drug-addicted son, wakes up after a bender and starts searching for his girlfriend Gloria.
“‘Fear the Walking Dead” takes us back to the earlier, more unsafe, more terrifying days of “The Walking Dead, ‘” said Kirkman.
No use of the Z-word or the W-word: The undead will not be called “walkers” or “zombies”.
In charting the origins of “The Walking Dead“‘s apocalyptic onslaught, Erickson says he was keen on crafting a family drama – albeit with zombies – that a broad audience could sink their teeth into.

Fear the Walking Dead also stars Frank Dillane as Nick, Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia, Elizabeth Rodriguez as Liza, Ruben Blades as Daniel, Mercedes Mason as Ofelia and Lorenzo James Henrie as Chris.
