Missouri ranked No. 24 in preseason AP poll
However, unlike in the coaches poll, the Gophers did not even receive a single vote in the AP poll.

The first AP Poll of the season was released early Sunday afternoon. Alabama opens its 2015 season on September 5 in Arlington, Texas, as the Tide squares off with the 20th-ranked Badgers in the annual AdvoCare Classic inside AT&T Stadium. Only twice, Florida State in 1999 and Southern California in 2004, has the top-ranked team in the preseason poll gone wire-to-wire as No. 1.
The Associated Press rankings started in 1936, but the preseason poll didn’t debut until 1950. It is the third longest streak of preseason top-five rankings in the history of the poll. All of the voters have an extensive background in covering college football.
The Arkansas Razorbacks and Missouri Tigers are both ranked in the Associated Press Preseason Top 25 college football poll.
Ohio State, which beat Oregon 42-20 to win the first College Football Playoff in January, received all 61 first-place votes.
MSU received 100 votes, the most by a team that wasn’t ranked. Reigning East Division champion Missouri sits just above Tennessee in the poll at No. 24.

Second-ranked TCU and fourth-ranked Baylor are among three Big 12 teams in the poll along with No. 19 Oklahoma. SEC rival Florida also received votes for the Top 25.
