Gerrard tells Lampard: It’s war

Robbie Keane had two goals and two assists, and the LA Galaxy showed their championship form in a 5-1 victory over New York City FC on Sunday.

In regard to Lampard’s injuries since joining the expansion team, Kreis told Crooks: “It’s been amazingly frustrating for him and all of us know I’m frustrated”. “So it has surprised me and it is better than I thought”.

New York City, meanwhile, remain in seventh spot and below the play-off line in the East and are not expected to pull off an upset having won just three away matches since March. But it is insane and feels even stranger to be playing him over in America at the end of our careers.

But Steven Gerrard has insisted that he’s been impressed by the quality of play in the States and thinks Bruce Arena’s side would be able to handle more than half the sides now in the Premier League.

The Galaxy almost scored a sixth goal in the waning minutes, but Keane and Gerrard were left laughing after they repeatedly passed to each other near the goal without shooting.

“It’s about the game and the three points”.

The build-up to the game had been dominated by the prospect of Gerrard and former Chelsea favourite Frank Lampard facing each other again in the MLS.

“When the whistle goes to finish there’s a mutual respect there and we’ve always got on off the pitch, regardless of what people say”.
