A second man, who was playing bagpipes on the ground at the school, was taken into custody but released because he had no connection to the shooting, authorities said. One suspect is in his 30s, the other in his 20s. There were no injuries.

Rosenberg police, who provide security to the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District, found shell casings on the roof, plus damage to a window and air conditioner from what appears to be gunshots. Although the incident happened on a school campus, officials do not believe the suspect had intent to harm the school or students.

Lamar CISD was informed by our police department that two men were found trespassing at Velasquez Elementary this morning (8/23/15).

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputies determined the gun the Pieper had was later reported stolen.
