Bethesda’s Hines thinks Fallout 4 will outsell Skyrim
Bethesda‘s marketing head Pete Hines confirmed as much speaking to MCV this week.

“As with most forms of entertainment you never get 100 per cent agreement on anything”. This time, he said, “everybody is entitled to their opinion”.
Bethesda Softworks’ Fallout 4 is now riding the hype train to its November release but there’s been an absolute fever pitch for the title in the past few years.
According to GameSpot, During the E3 event in June, game director Todd Howard admitted that the graphics for “Fallout 4” was a little bit subpar compared to the other games that they created. It all seems like this should be very obvious, even to naysayers. This doesn’t mean that Skyrim VI is going to be aggressively developed (Bethesda have already said that it’s a while off), but more studio acquisitions could help maintain some consistency.
When fans pointed out that “Fallout 4” showed similarity with “Fallout 3” in its lack of new features, Hines stressed that that the game “ought to look and feel familiar”. But at the same time, when you’re playing it it’s a mix of familiar and different.
For those that complain that the gameplay is too similar to Fallout 3, they are right to a certain degree. But those things are sometimes very hard to demonstrate in a short video at [an] E3 showcase, or whatever. The studio’s best selling release of all time, it’s safe to say that Skyrim played a big part in putting role-playing games on the map for many a gamer back when it launched in 2011.
That’s a bold claim from any studio, but it’s especially noteworthy coming from the same developers who brought us The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim. It is interesting though to see how Bethesda react to the gaming community when they are being positive, or in this case negative.

During the event Bethesda laid out release windows for a number of its high-profile games (including Fallout 4 and Doom) and, surprisingly, released its first mobile title on the spot – the remarkably successful Fallout Shelter.
