It is forecast to continue moving northwest over the next five days. It became a hurricane on Thursday morning well east of the Lesser Antilles, peaking at category 3 strength on Friday afternoon.

It is also a very small hurricane which means that as it encounters the higher wind shear, rapid weakening is more likely than if Danny were a larger hurricane.
