Police Officer Wounded In Pellet Gun Shooting Near Gracie Mansion

A New York City police officer assigned to the mayor’s security detail was struck on Sunday by an apparent BB or pellet gun outside the mayor’s residence in Manhattan, police said.

The officer determined that she was shot in the back with a pellet gun, a source said.

She exited an unmarked vehicle outside of 170 East End Avenue at 7:15 on Sunday night when she felt pain in her back, a source said.

An 18-year-old boy and a 17-year-old woman have been taken into custody for questioning.

Police say a number of home windows within the neighborhood even have been broken by pellet gun hearth lately.
