The crash comes less than 24 hours after a plane crashed during an air show in Brighton, England, leaving seven dead.
The two planes that crashed were part of a three-aircraft aerobatic formation at the air show in Dittingen, Switzerland, local police spokesman Meinrad Stocklin said.
The incident happened at the Dittingen airshow near Basel in Switzerland’s north. According to a Swiss news agency, a pilot died and the second pilot -both from the Wurttemberg state in Germany- managed to eject and parachute himself to land safely. His plane crashed nearby a home on the edge of the village.
The formation team has been identified as the German Grasshoppers which fly green single-engine Ikarus C42 airplanes.
UK police believe the death toll is likely to rise to 11.

Witnesses told local TV that the jet appeared to have crashed when it failed to pull out of a loop manoeuvre.
