White House race: Biden jolts would-be backers with Warren meeting
The Bidens have never bought into a lifestyle of power and privilege in Washington, D.C. In 1972, after a tragic accident took the life of his wife and daughter, Senator Biden committed himself to commuting daily from his family’s home in Delaware, so he could be present for his sons.

Yet as bad as that scenario might be for the Clintons, it’s likely that Bill and Hillary’s inner circle probably still think they can beat both Biden and Sanders.
Advisers say that if Biden does not enter the race by October 1, it might be too late for him to get the petition signatures and delegates lined up for the ballot in early primary states.

Alcorn also said he didn’t know whether Biden would actually enter the race, but admitted he thought voters would like to see the 72-year-old former senator run.
The Herald reported last week that deep-pocketed Democratic contributors are being pressured by Clinton’s team not to contribute to Biden as the former secretary of state is rocked by revelations about her email server and a Franklin Pierce University/Boston Herald poll that showed her falling behind Vermont Sen. He had at least one meeting with them this week in Wilmington, one person familiar with the session told CNN. “Anyone speculating that he has made a decision is wrong”. Democrats are increasingly insecure about Mrs. Clinton’s candidacy, given her dipping approval ratings and continuing questions about her use of a private email server while secretary of state. Only in recent weeks has he begun to resume a normal schedule, and with it, he has heard from supporters urging him to consider what would be a third run for the presidency, following previous efforts in 1988 and 2008.

If Clinton does leave the race, then Katie, bar the door: Every Democratic governor and senator will look in the mirror and see a future president. That may be Biden, who has lower negatives than Hillary and far higher name recognition than Sanders or O’Malley. Speaking live to tell the tale ABC’s “This Week”, O’Malley additionally responded to new polling from Quinnipiac College in that finds a majority of voters in battleground states don’t think Hillary Clinton is trustworthy. And should that indictment come later rather than sooner, the Democratic Party could be headed into the election of 2016 led by a Brooklyn-born septuagenarian Socialist. Those developments are creating a window for Biden, while Democratic strategists say it remains unclear whether the window is big enough.
