David Horsey extends lead in Denmark

Starting on the back nine, the Englishman notched up an eagle at the 11th, before five consecutive birdies – from the 13th to the 17th – saw him equal the lowest nine-hole score on the European Tour this season.

The 30-year-old had led by one shot overnight after an opening eight-under-par 63 and he was immediately into his stride in the second round with a birdie on the first.

“I holed my third shot on the 11th from 130 yards to make eagle, then I had five birdies in a row from the 13th, so it was a very good first nine”.

One shot further back is Richard Green, with Welshman Bradley Dredge, Ireland’s Peter Lawrie and Paul Lawrie of Scotland close behind.

“I didn’t have a clue that I was seven clear”, Horsey said.

Tour rookie Farr recovered to shoot 64 after bogeying the 10th, his first.

“I know she might think I’m a bit silly but it’s going to be a great memory for us as we grow older”, added Harto who has yet to record a win on the tour.

Perhaps still dealing with some proposal-related nerves, Harto went on to bogey the next hole and will miss the cut after rounds of 73-74, but he and his fiancee left Himmerland Golf Resort & Spa with a proposal story for the ages. He slipped up with bogeys on two of his last three.

But it wasn’t because he had just birdied the par-three hole in his home country in front of a large crowd.
