At Montreal, the Briton on Sunday appeared in supreme form in the Rogers Cup Final, ending his eight-match losing streak against reigning World No 1 Novak Djokovic. Mauresmo has given birth to a baby boy on Sunday.

The third set had some thrilling moments with Murray dominating and Djokovic putting up a good defense, though not good enough to prevent Murray from pulling ahead 3-0.
“But not taking anything away from him, from his victory”. “He’s going to be with me pretty much every event I play between now and the end of the year”.
“It’s nice to get back especially after everything I went through previous year with the hip surgery and dropping out of the top 10”, Murray continued.
Murray, who was very capable of a win, had not managed to best Djokovic since he took home the Wimbledon title for Great Britain in 2013. But Novak is an incredibly hard guy to beat so it’s no disgrace in losing to him.
Bencic has now won 21 of her past 25 matches and, in addition to defeating Halep, also beat world number one Serena Williams, Ana Ivanovic, Caroline Wozniacki, Eugenie Bouchard and Sabine Lisicki. I hit my forehand approach shot well at the beginning of the match and that helped me get some cheaper points.
With his ranking back to No. 2 and his confidence soaring after his 35th career title (11th Masters), Murray moves on to Cincinnati where he’ll try for a third crown there.
Will he ever reach No.1?
“It was around this time past year that I dropped out of the top 10”. Despite improving during the match, he never had enough to trouble Djokovic, winning just ten points on the Serbian’s serve. The consistency that he’s shown over the last couple of years has been phenomenal and before that, Roger and Rafa were exceptional. There were a lot of questions asked of me. I’ll just keep doing that. “I played better than I did yesterday, but still I need to get at least a level or two higher tomorrow in order to win the title”.

Murray, who dedicated the win to coach and new mother Amelie Mauresmo, said keeping his aggressive game-plan was key – as he kept his head in the deciding set.
