Edmonson said the trooper had stopped to help the driver, whose pickup truck was stuck in a ditch.
Vincent was in the process of asking Daigle which tow truck company he’d like to use when Daigle opened fire, Anderson said.
At least two or three buckshot pellets hit Vincent, doing major damage.
Shot, Vincent attempted to go back to his unit to call for help, Edmonson said.
Vincent has a wife and a son.
“You’re lucky, you’re lucky, you’re going to die soon”, Daigle told Vincent. Good news is none of the drivers were hurt during the challenge.
Responding Troopers, law enforcement, and medical personnel from the area arrived at the scene shortly thereafter placing Daigle into custody and transporting Trooper Vincent via Acadian Air Med to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
This photo released by the Louisiana State Police shows Kevin… James Anderson, Kevin was hospitalized as a result of the injuries he sustained during the wrestle with the other drivers.
