According to the report, the 46 year old athlete, Laura Cattivera, from California, is suffering from a rare neurological condition, called focal dystonia, which causes involuntary muscular contractions and hence prevents her from running in a straight line.
She first noticed the symptom in 1992 Olympic trials and since then she is struggling with it.
Initially, she tried to run in zig-zag direction but it didn’t worked out much, so she started running backwards.
She said in a talk “I always had a passion for running and I was determined nothing was going to stop me”.
