Simon Jones of the Daily Mail says the San Siro club are prepared to welcome the Italy worldwide on loan, with Balotelli now back in his homeland to meet Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic and his assistant Nenad Sakic.

Taking Balotelli on a season-long loan would mean Milan could evaluate whether they want to keep him or offer Ibrahimovic a contract once his deal at Parc des Princes expires next year.

Mario Balotelli could be set for a shock reunion with AC Milan after Adriano Galliani claimed the club have a “love affair” with the striker.

“I’m not going to comment”, he said.

Balotelli had a troubled first season at Liverpool in which he scored just one Premier League goal in 10 starts. Instead of the president of Sampdoria or a third tier Italian club expressing their undying wish for Balotelli to pull on their team colours, it’s AC Milan putting their hat in the ring for Balotelli’s skills.

If they are unable to find a new club for him, they will have to pay a substantial bonus payment, even though coach Brendan Rodgers has made it clear he does not see any space for the 25-year-old in his side this season.

“It seems that Mihajlovic perceived the total sincerity in the words of Mario Balotelli, who had a humble approach considering also the current situation of his career”.
