Bon Jovi announce departure from Mercury Records after ‘Burning Bridges’ release

Although he says he was not involved in the circumstances that led to the show being called off, Bon Jovi apologized to fans for the turmoil and said integrity mattered to him.

His latest, “Burning Bridges”, fulfilled his contractual obligation with his record label, Mercury Records, who he’s been with for his entire career.

Bon Jovi’s team responded that Paper Rain hadn’t paid vendors or acquired staging equipment, and the City of Vancouver said the promoter hadn’t acquired the right permits.

The backstory here is that Richie Sambora, the band’s longtime guitarist and co-writer of the Bon Jovi hits, left the band in mid-tour in 2013.

Bon Jovi has been with Mercury Records for 32 years, but the band will leave the label, Jon Bon Jovi told Billboard. They released their debut album via Mercury that following year. Listen to the lyrics because it explains exactly what happened.

Originally by Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng, Bon Jovi chose the song as a special gift to his many Chinese fans on the Chinese version of Valentine’s Day, at least according to this link from Bon Jovi’s official website – which, somewhat adorably, is also written in Mandarin. This song compilation, the group’s 14th studio-made record, represents a beginning and an end. “I did one of these once in the New York Central Park”.

“A lot happened”, Bon Jovi said. “Richie’s sudden departure, my trying to buy the [Buffalo] Bills and now this with the label”. Two singles have been released from the album “We Don’t Run” and “Saturday Night Gave Me Sunday Morning”.

Bon Jovi asked after Lost Highway, and the standing crowd, which could reasonably be estimated at approximately 7,500-8,000, answered with the noise of a packed house.
