McCall repeatedly questioned whether Geohegan would only suffer a cut lip if a 215-pound football player punched her.

Madison Geohegan admitted Monday that she was drinking before the June 23 incident but says she clearly remembers the confrontation with Cook.

A Leon County, Fla., jury found Cook not guilty after a daylong trial that began Monday morning.

Cook’s attorneys requested and received a speedy trial because they felt confident their evidence and witnesses would exonerate Cook.

McCall tried to discredit the story by saying both girls were drunk, that Geohegan never sought medical attention and that she told police in the days after the incident that she didn’t want to pursue charges.

A woman says Florida State running back Dalvin Cook boasted that he would be able to buy her when he signs a professional football contract just before he punched her in the face outside a bar.

Three teammates gave similar testimony, saying that Cook tried to calm the situation as Geohagen and his teammates shouted at each other. “I’ve been working, but now it’s time to get at it”. She began crying when a prosecutor showed her photos of her injuries that night. Closing arguments were presented late Monday afternoon and the jury deliberated for about an hour until reaching a decision around 7 p.m.

Cook is charged with misdemeanor battery.

Cook was the nation’s No. 2 ranked running back recruit in the nation as a high school senior before rushing for a team-best 1,002 yards and eight touchdowns as a true freshman.

The 20-year-old Miami native has been suspended indefinitely from the team pending the outcome of the case.

The defense also called Grant Jenkins, a finance major at FSU, who was at the bar independently of the Florida State football players.

Fellow FSU players Travis Rudolph, Deondre Francois and Da’Vante Phillips all testified that they did not see Cook hit the alleged victim.
