Biden presidential watch in overdrive
With the president back from vacation, Biden Monday lunched with Obama.

All could bolster Biden’s credentials if he decides to challenge Hillary Clinton for the 2016 Democratic nomination for president – foreign-policy expertise from years running the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, powers of persuasion on legislation that Obama has often lacked, even his Catholic faith.
“Vice President Joseph Biden, who is spending his time in seclusion, contemplating whether to take on Secretary Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primaries for president, has some new information to consider”, said Peter A. Brown, the poll’s assistant director.
The Clinton campaign hasn’t been able to shake the fallout of an FBI investigation into whether classified emails were stored on her personal servers.
While many top Democrats have already signed onto Hillary Clinton’s candidacy, several former Obama advisers tell CNN they would work for Biden if he jumps into the race.

KARL: So I assume the President would support VP Biden if he were to run? California Governor Jerry Brown told NBC’s Meet the Press programme that, if he were Biden, he would give “very serious consideration” to a presidential run.
Obama had earlier been careful not to pick among the Democratic candidates.
Earnest reminded reporters during the White House Press Briefing of Obama’s characterization of his decision to run with Biden on his presidential ticket as the best political decision of his presidency. Two out of three Democrats, more than the number who make her their first choice, believe she will win the nomination. On Saturday, Biden held a private meeting with Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., a leader in the progressive wing of the Democratic party who had been considered a potential 2016 candidate.
I’ll have more to say about it later; included in the crowd were people representing some key trends and cross-currents in the Republican race.
“I don’t think anyone has been anointed”, she said in response to a question on whether it was a mistake for Democrats to “anoint” Clinton as the nominee.
Asked if Biden should run, Brown said: “You are asking me presidential advice”. I think Obama would feel remiss if he didn’t support Biden.

Some Warren supporters would like her to enter the presidential race, but she has not shown any willingness to do so.
