Andy Murray crowned champion in Rogers Cup
Andy Murray said a positive attitude helped him bring down nemesis Novak Djokovic in the Rogers Cup final.

Murray and the world number one took an hour per set to settle their score in Quebec as Murray completed a Canadian title hat-trick after trophies in 2009 and 2010.
UPDATE: Andy Murray beat Novak Djokovic 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to win the Rogers Cup.
Murray also replaced Roger Federer as world number two in Monday’s new ATP rankings following his semi-final victory over Kei Nishikori. It would have been easy for me to let that one slip away. “I lost in the first round of a tournament last week in a match many probably weren’t expecting me to lose”, Murray said on court. It was his 35th career title.
“Someone is smoking weed, I can smell it, and I’m getting dizzy”, Djokovic told the umpire, according to the Telegraph. He deserved it. He stepped in, played some great shots.
Djokovic had little trouble against Chardy after surviving two match points to beat qualifier Ernests Gulbis in a three-set quarterfinal Friday.
“I just did some tests”.
The third set had some thrilling moments with Murray dominating and Djokovic putting up a good defense, though not good enough to prevent Murray from pulling ahead 3-0.
Djokovic came into Sunday’s final with a 13-1 record this season when a match went to a deciding set. “It’s already existing there for many years”, he said. Murray had been winless against the Serb global for more than two years but he prevailed after 2 hours and 58 minutes.
“My coach Amelie Mauresmo is back home”.
“Yesterday in the doubles match, today again… somebody’s really enjoying his life around the tennis court”, Djokovic said.
As both players continued to hold serve, the Serbian World No. 1 faced pressure in his service game as he trailed 2-5, fending off 3 match points, looking to deny the Scot the match right there.
“I think I did come up and play aggressively when I needed to”.

Murray took and built upon the early break from Djokovic. He’s going to be with me pretty much every event I play between now and the end of the year. “So I need to get myself ready”.
