The revival of franchise will be coming soon, but it’ll cost you $20 extra to rock out with Rock Band 4 on your Xbox One than it would for PlayStation 4.

The reason behind the upping in its price is that the Xbox One Rock Band 4 disc will come in a nicely wrapped bundle with the “Legacy Game Controller Adapter”, whether you want it or not, but it will allow you to re-use the old guitar controller you might have stored in the closet.
“The adapter plugs into your Xbox One via USB and wirelessly supports up to four controllers simultaneously”.
No such adapter is required for the PS4, however; legacy Rock Band instruments will work out of the box.

Rock Band 4 is also offering an expanded set of gameplay concepts, allowing players to execute freestyle solos on both the guitars and on drums, which gamers can use to express their personality and make each track unique. The PlayStation 4 release will require no such adapter (presumably because Sony opted not to use a proprietary wireless technology for the PS3) and will be sold for the standard new release price of $59.99.
Now that we know one of Van Halen’s tracks will be making it to Rock Band 4, are there any more new developments with this particular platform that we should be aware of?
