Burning Bridges dropped as a fan album on Friday with 10 songs meant to accompany the band’s 12-stop tour in Southeast Asia.

When Jon Bon Jovi titled his latest single “We Don’t Run”, he couldn’t have known it would take on new meaning in Vancouver.

In the meantime, you can listen to the attack song, “Burning Bridges,” and the rest of the album on Spotify below.

He adds: “This hits it right in the head and tells you what happened”. Listen to the lyrics because it explains exactly what happened.

His Vancouver show was a homecoming of sorts.

Below, you can hear Jim Morrison singing the same song.

Needless to say, this is certainly a much better performance than his uncredited turn in the classic 1990 Western, Young Guns II, as “Pit inmate shot back into pit”. Still, Bon Jovi’s separation from Mercury follows a split with co-founding member Richie Sambora, capping a season of change for the group. Bon Jovi went on to record two more albums in Vancouver.

“When it all fell apart, my initial reaction was it’s too bad, make sure everybody gets their refunds”, he shares.

Ultimately, you have to applaud Bon Jovi’s management team for wrangling the ticketing situation (and re-assigning everyone to arena seating without creating too many headaches) and delivering a last-minute concert that, for so many reasons, is now the stuff of legend. “We made it happen”.
