According to the report, the cat, named Chunky, was got dropped at the Cats Protection Cornwall after his owner find himself unable to control his growing weight.
Now he urgently needs new parents who will hold his hand through his dieting nightmare every step of the way.
The six-year-old is at increased risk of health complications due to his 22lb weight and would be best suited to a family without other pets or young children due to his chatty nature.
