Crews are working to contain a small brush fire burning in Santaquin Canyon in southern Utah County.

Firefighters are fighting flames from both the ground and the air.
The Santaquin Police Department announced on Twitter that the city’s residents should avoid the area and be prepared in case evacuations were necessary.
“We had no growth overnight”, Shelley said Tuesday.
The fire is visible from Alpine, but a representative for the U.S. Forest Service said the fire is not threatening any structures there.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday.
A road running through the canyon was closed to traffic Monday evening.

Fire Information Officer Reid Shelley said if everything goes well they should have the fire under full containment by Thursday.
