Thirteen-foot long Alligator caught in Alabama lake
The alligator was caught on August . 14 by Scott Evans, of Center Point, AL, and Jeff and Justin Gregg, of Birmingham.

“It is humbling”, Jeff Gregg said about seeing such an enormous animal- believed to be 60 years old- up close.
“It was surreal, ” Evans said.
The elusive gator escaped from the first snare, and Evans’ gathering sought after it for another 75 yards or something like that before they had him snared a second time. The gator will also likely be a record breaker at Lake Eufaula. The party of three were taken out with a guide, Mike Gifford, when they caught the alligator.
Alligator hunting season in Alabama’s Lake Eufaula began on Friday night, and that’s when Evans and his buddies went to try and land themselves a large lizard.
A 920-pound gator has alligator hunters in Alabama on cloud nine after catching and killing the second biggest gator in a state-regulated hunt in Alabama. “Before we dispatched [the gator], it’s running through your mind, ‘should we just take a picture and let it go?’ It looks like you are looking at a dinosaur”.

Richard Tharp, a wildlife biologist for the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, said the agency has not yet received any official paperwork on the 920-pound alligator so it cannot yet be determined if a new Lake Eufaula record catch has been set.
