You don’t need to be in a boys club to make a blockbuster.

Another day, another reason to be thankful for Melissa McCarthy. Can we take a moment and talk about this woman’s resume?

While some merely don’t like the talent involved, whether it’s director Paul Feig or stars Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, sadly, there are many chauvinistic fans out there who simply can’t accept the fact that four women are leading a Ghostbusters movie. Probably not. But you can be sure that every female who contributed to this movie in some way won’t put up with their BS, and will show that they are just as much of an asset as their male counterparts.

The Spy star tweeted: ‘3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of Ghostbusters. She also gave a shout-out to fellow girl-power advocate Ellen DeGeneres.

At a time when too-few women are afforded opportunities both in front of and behind the camera in Hollywood, the Ghostbusters reboot has made a conscious effort to promote girl power.

Along with the tweet is a photo of the more than 50 women in the cast and crew.

If a women-empowering, presumably hilarious (I mean, how can it not be?) film about busting ghosts doesn’t get you to the theater, I don’t know what will.
