Glover Quin: “God meant for Jordy to get hurt”
After wide receiver Jordy Nelson suffered a torn ACL which will knock him out for the season, McCarthy told his players that they had to pick up the slack. “I appreciate your loyalty and support and am looking forward to helping the team however I can as we focus on an exciting season ahead of us”. Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy said the team had hoped for good news in a reevaluation of Nelson’s injury.

The firestorm started on Twitter, where several fans, including Brian Baumgartner, who played Kevin Malone on “The Office”, took a swipe at Quin’s comments. That it was Nelson’s right knee was a bit of a surprise, considering he appeared to land awkwardly on his left knee after a short reception on the game’s opening drive. Nelson finished seventh in the league with 98 catches, fourth with 1,519 yards and tied for second with 13 touchdowns. We haven’t played a game yet.
Nelson, a top target for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, was injured Sunday in a preseason loss at Pittsburgh. “So regardless of what happened to Jordy, you’re talking about three men that played a lot of football”.
Falcons: Roddy White will undergo a minor surgical procedure on his right elbow Monday, but Atlanta coach Dan Quinn the veteran receiver should be ready for the September 14 season opener against Philadelphia. Hence, the Green Bay Packers star believes that lowering the number of games could definitely benefit the players as the NFL stars would be given more time to heal and recover from the training sessions and actual games during the NFL regular season.
“It’s minor, nothing too concerning in my book”, Beason said Sunday. He went up to catch a pass, then clutched his leg after falling to the turf without being hit.
“The best guy on the team is Aaron Rodgers, and he’s still playing”, Quin said. There’s really no need for guys like Rodgers or Nelson to be exposed to potential injuries during preseason games.
After the game concluded the Packers players and staff were forced to give their mandatory time with the media.

Rookie safety Mykkele Thompson was lost last week when he suffered an Achilles tendon injury against Cincinnati. You can’t treat them like pheasants under glass, either. “You’ve got to be able to get out there, go through your paces, and try to be as prudent as you possibly can”. He also said God is bigger than football and the game is about growth and learning from injuries, and winning and losing.
