Earlier Sunday, firefighters were gaining ground against a wildfire that led to the evacuation of thousands of people and destroyed a lodge in Kings Canyon National Park.

“There are firefighters coming from all around the country fighting the fire”.
By Wednesday night, the fire remained along ridge tops near Kings Canyon, according to Hume Lake Christian Camp.
The fire was moving toward Hume Lake so quickly that the incident command post was moved Thursday night from the lake to the ranger station in Sequoia National Forest. “We’re just really appreciative of all the resources they’re bringing here to protect our camp”. Company spokesperson Denny Boyles says they don’t expect the fire to cause any impacts to electric reliability.
The blaze grew to 100 acres, but it was 25 percent contained.
Hume Lake Christian Camps is a year-round youth camp and adult retreat center providing epic, high-energy, life-changing programs for churches, schools, teams and groups.
There was little active burning overnight, which allowed firefighters to take further control of the fire, particularly in the Hume Lake area. “If he chooses to burn it down, we will praise God”.
State fire agency CAL FIRE cautioned of a growing problem of people flying hobby drones over affected areas.
On Thursday, evacuation warnings were issued to residents about 40 miles east of Fresno in the communities of Crabtree, Sampson Flat, Davis Flat and Clover Meadows.
