Taylor Swift and Alanis Morissette slayed ‘You Oughta Know’

During her her show Monday night in Los Angeles, Taylor Swift drew Alanis Morissette’s name from one of Jake Gyllenhaal’s old hats.

Here’s a clip of the duo rocking (and stomping) it out on stage. She stepped out to the song “Style” wearing an outfit that matched Swift’s.

Swift credited Morissette for opening the pop floodgates to jilted singer-songwriters.

Well now she quite a few stars more to add to that list as she not only got the chance to sing You Oughtta Know with none other than Alanis Morissette but she sang Goodbye Earl with Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks! “She inspired a generation of confessional female singer-songwriters who all of a sudden felt like you could actually say these raw feelings that you had; you could actually sing about your real life, you could put detail to it”.

Also joining her onstage was rocker Morissette, who Swift praised for inspiring her as a young musician. We know that Bad Blood was all about Katy and Taylor’s ongoing feud but would Taylor really have Alanis perform with her to diss Katy?

Swift also declared that “You Oughta Know” was the “greatest breakup song of all time”.

After the gig, Taylor tweeted, “Tonight”.

“I can safely and honestly say I would not be a musician if it had not been for this artist”, Swift admitted to the sold-out crowd as Maines joined her. “I would not have wanted to be a country artist”.
