FLASH Season 2 Travels Forward In Time

In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Gabrielle Stanton is keeping quiet on details about how Kid Flash will be introduced into the superhero drama., Stanton hints that there will be “a very interesting and close relationship” between the newbie, Barry and the rest of the speedster’s team.

The Flash left us with more than a few timey-wimey questions from its first season finale, but the first official Season 2 photo may afford some speedy answers.

After witnessing his mother’s supernatural murder and his father’s wrongful conviction for the crime, Barry Allen is taken in by Detective Joe West and his family. His obsession with his tragic past causes him to become an outcast among his peers. To further amp up the excitement, the network released a pair of new promotional clips featuring Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in his redesigned suit. He also vowed to protect Central City from the escalating violence of metahuman criminals. As for who this less-than-desirable visitor might be, one possibility is Atom Smasher, the super-strong and size-changing metahuman that Barry will fight in the Season 2 premiere.

Wally West will be played by Keiynan Lonsdale while Teddy Sears will portray Jay Garrick. The daughter of the golden age character Johnny Quick in the source material, for the series she’s described as “a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2’s big bad, Zoom.” It’s hard to say how much we should read into anything here, but there are a couple of little things worth noting.
