Stephen Colbert announces 1st week’s ‘Late Show’ guests

Gone is David Letterman’s old “Late Show” sign atop the historic Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City (remember, it was torn down immediately following Dave’s last show?), and in its place is now Colbert’s name, face and slightly revised “Late Show” logo in bright lights. We knew George Clooney and Jeb Bush would be the opening-night guests.

Analysts suggest that Colbert is trying to appear different from his late-night competition by brining in guests from the business and tech worlds along with the usual list of entertainment icons.

According to the guest list announced on Monday by CBS, UAE viewers will miss out on a strong first week line-up.

When The Late Show premieres this September 8th, all eyes will be on the comedian made famous by his bombastic Bill O’Reilly-inspired character as host of The Colbert Report.

Will it be an interesting show?

On Wednesday, Scarlett Johansson, SpaceX and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, will be on the show with musical guest Kendrick Lamar. Then on September 10, singer Toby Keith and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick will stop by and “Trainwreck” star Amy Schumer, writer Stephen King, and Troubled Waters, a Paul Simon tribute band, will appear on September 11. Along with these two, Kendrick Lamar will also be interviewed and perform as well.
