Jordy Nelson initially diagnosed with torn ACL
It doesn’t look like the Packers have any interest in bringing in a receiver from the outside, either. They’re going to play even more football Saturday night.

“I have to admit the first thing I thought was an ACL tear for him just the way that you saw his knee give out and the way he went down”, explained Dr. Vetter in an interview with CBS 58 News on Monday.
Nelson is having his knee double checked today and although there is still hope cheeseheads and fantasy footballers alike have already given up.
“I think a lot of players around the league probably do, at least cut it down a couple”. But we wouldn’t count on the NFL cutting the preseason down anytime soon, and NFL players are just going to have to find a way to deal with it.
Nelson caught 98 passes for 1,519 yards for 13 touchdowns last season, including 11 catches for 145 yards in two games against the Lions.
“It’s hard to lose a guy like that in a meaningless game”, Rodgers said, bemoaning the fact there are four preseason games on the schedule.
Either way, Green Bay will have a ton of work to do to keep its status among the NFL’s best offenses with Nelson on the shelf.
Jordy Nelson’s season-ending knee injury was unavoidable and inevitable.
There is talk that Green Bay may want to consider looking to free agency or a trade to land a veteran wide out. “So in that sense, now they’ve got three weeks to make adjustments and prepare before opening day, as opposed to it happening opening day and now you’re in the season and now Jordy gets hurt”, he explained.
Quin clarified his comment Tuesday, saying he didn’t believe he said anything that would have caused a backlash, but “obviously, it upset a whole bunch of people”.
Randall Cobb and promising second-year player Davante Adams each move up a spot on the depth chart with Nelson sidelined.
That didn’t happen for the Steelers as injuries to Pro Bowl center Maurkice Pouncey and second-year defensive end Stephon Tuitt could turn out to prove costly for the black and gold.

“With a guy like Clay, who’s bright (and has) good football instincts, I like where he is in terms of being able to do what I ask him to do”.
