A 21-month-old boy was fatally wounded in north St. Louis County shooting Tuesday afternoon.
Hospital staff who tried to save the toddler’s life notified police in Richmond Heights, another village in St. Louis County, that the boy had suffered a gunshot wound, KSDK-TV reported. The child’s mother told police the child had been shot at the Hanley Hills home, which is under the jurisdiction of the St. Louis County police department. No arrests have been made.
McGuire says one person has been arrested but no details will be released until the case is presented to prosecutors.
Neighbors said there had been a drive-by shooting on the block recently.
St. Louis County Police identify the victim of Sunday afternoon’s homicide as 20-year-old Trevion Gill of Florissant.
