And as a way to fire back at all the haters our there, McCarthy has just posted a picture on Instagram that shows there are plenty more women working on the movie than the four leading ladies.
The actor/clothing designer/smile-enabler posted a photo through her social media accounts on August. 25, 2015, sharing that pride with fellow girl-power advocate Ellen DeGeneres. A whole lot of women, that’s who. Besides actresses Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones, rows of stunt doubles, producers, writers and other crew members also filled the shot.
The movie’s four stars are seen grinning while holding a “Girl Power” sign.

The Spy star tweeted: ‘3 cheers to Ellen from all the remarkable women of Ghostbusters. Fingers crossed this will end of long river of vitriol and slime the cast and crew have had to swim against. Seeing as research shows women are still majorly underrepresented in Hollywood – both in front of and behind the camera – that’s sort of a big deal.
