Amazon’s Prime Now Expansion To Include Alcoholic Beverages

Amazon has announced today (25 August) that its Prime Now delivery service has arrived in the company’s hometown, Seattle. It allows Prime members to request one-hour and two-hour deliveries on products via a separate mobile app – products that include some foodstuffs. It covers fast growing categories like Home, Beauty and Fashion as well as key platforms like Amazon Logistics, Amazon Web Services and Amazon Marketplace on which an ever-increasing number of UK businesses of all sizes are enjoying significant success.

Amazon’s one-hour delivery service, Prime Now, is expanding to cover new markets including the online retailer’s hometown of Seattle, Washington. Prime Now will also be available to customers in Bellevue, Redmond, and Kirkland. More importantly, Seattle marks the first location in the United States where Amazon will bring you wine, beer, and liquor on demand.

Prime Now previously launched in select areas of New York City, Miami, Baltimore, Dallas, Atlanta, Austin, Chicago and Indianapolis.

Prime Now, however, does not feature the same broad selection of grocery items as on AmazonFresh, but the two services could see continued integration in the future. Prime Now customers can order using an app available on both iOS and Android devices. The service is available seven days a week from 8 a.m.to midnight. There are currently “tens of thousands” of items available through the Prime Now service, Amazon says.
