Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said on Sunday that the government respected the Election Tribunal’s decision regarding NA-122 but did not agree with the verdict.

He said Sardar Ayaz Sadiq or his voters could not be punished for the mistakes or malpractices of the ECP.
Imran had challenged the election results in tribunal in September 2013 and sought inspection of polling record.
Ali Ayaz Sadiq, NA speaker’s son while talking to the media, has announced that the tribunal’s decision will be challenged in the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC).
It should be borne in mind that chairman Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Imran Khan had filed a petition for electoral rigging against the victor Ayaz Sadiq, who had polled more votes than Imran and had been declared as the victor.
PML-N sources said the party would examine legal options, meaning it may go in for appeal against the tribunal’s decision.
The counsel of Ayaz Sadiq, Asjad Saeed said that in 80 page judgment there is no mention of rigging. Saad Rafique was that the Apex Court suspended the impugned verdict on its very first hearing when even the copy of the judgment of the Election Tribunal Punjab had not been attached with appeal of the federal minister for Railways. As a shield from tribunal’s verdict, Sadiq approached LHC to get a stay order which was granted in September. The recounting of votes was given in the supervision of a local commission which was headed by retired sessions judge Ghulam Hussain.
The tribunal was to announce decision at ten in the morning but delayed it, as workers of PTI and PML-N gathered nearby and shouting slogans. The database department, after four months on June 14 submitted its forensic report to the tribunal.
He pointed out that the tribunal had reserved its judgement on August 17 and thus had enough time to write its verdict and announce it promptly on the given date.
