Jason Pierre-Paul blames Twitter typo on missing finger

Meanwhile, the Giants wait, with Pierre-Paul’s uncertain status a source of irritation. He needed an additional hand.

Jason Pierre-Paul addressed his fireworks mishap publicly for the first time on Sunday – more than a month after the accident took place.

Pierre-Paul tweeted an inspirational message about his offseason setback after he suffered a major hand injury and lost a finger during a Fourth of July fireworks accident.

That tweet included a confusing typo, as Pierre-Paul seemed to be trying to say, “except God himself”.

“My bad except lost a finger LOL”, Pierre-Paul wrote.

As the fake Pierre-Paul was coming out the front, the real one was sneaking out the back, said a security guard at the event.

Aside from that, there has been nothing – no explanation of what happened, no details on his injuries, no prognosis for his recovery, or a potential date for his return.

But the fake football player wrapped up the wrong mitt – in toilet paper, no less – a move even Pierre-Paul’s security people admitted was ill-conceived. In those photos, JPP’s hand was heavily bandaged and his right arm was in a sling.

It’s possible the world will get another look at him later on Saturday.
