Scott Walker: Barack Obama Should Cancel Chinese State Dinner

“Because China’s going bad it’s going to bring us down, too, because we’re so heavily coupled with China”, real-estate mogul Trump said on Fox News.

The rhetoric was reminiscent of the final months of the 2008 presidential election, when Republican nominee John McCain suspended his campaign in reaction to the massive financial crisis.

The visit from the Chinese leader is a follow up to Obama’s trip to Beijing past year .

The Dow Jones Industrial average plummeted 1,000 points Monday – its biggest point-drop ever – before staging a recovery later in the day.

As the US stock market suffered dramatic losses on Monday, Republican presidential candidates smelled blood in the water, eagerly exploiting an opportunity to rail against Obama’s economic record.

Trump, whose outspoken views have helped propel him to the front of a crowded pack vying to become the Republican nominee for the November 2016 election, pointed a finger at hedge funds.

Alexia Newman, the center’s director, said she was honored to welcome Walker, who has shown a commitment to life during his time as Wisconsin’s governor. “If this market stuff keeps up or if general economic malaise worsens, it plays into the argument that everything traditional politicians are doing isn’t working and we need something radically different”, Jim Paulsen, chief investment strategist at Wells Capital Management, told Politico. Roughly half of his 20-minute speech was devoted to foreign policy, an area in which the presidential candidate has faced questions and criticisms over a lack of experience. “But I also think the other part of it is that there are a lot of great Republican candidates”.

“Why would we be giving one of our highest things a president can do – and that is a state dinner for Xi Jinping, the head of China – at a time when all of these problems are pending out there?”

“This president thought money was free and easy – that he could spend as much of it as he wanted to without effect to the American people“, Christie said during a town hall attended by hundreds of voters at Sayde’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill in suburban Salem, N.H.

During his campaign stop in Birmingham, Walker said there is a reason why he isn’t taking a side on that issue.

Scott Walker today called on President Obama to cancel Chinese President Xi Jinping’s official state visit scheduled for next month, citing the country’s currency manipulation and recent Chinese cyberattacks against the U.S. government.

Even Saudi Arabia – which started a global race to flood global markets with cheap oil last November, in a bid to capture market share, The Wall Street Journal reports – is at risk of falling prey to its own strategy, assuming Chinese demand doesn’t pick back up.
