Apple updates Logic Pro audio workstation, adding Alchemy to the mix
The highlight feature of Logic 10.2 is Alchemy, a software synthesizer originally developed by Camel Audio before Apple snapped the developer up earlier this year.

This marks the second significant update to Logic Pro X within the year.
Alchemy can do a little bit of everything: it can create sounds using samples or multiple types of synthesis, including virtual versions of old-school analog synths.
The Alchemy sample manipulation synth is definitely a major upgrade to the suite, helping casual users find new samples while providing power users sophisticated means to craft the flawless sound.
To shape sounds, Logic Pro X offers new controls, like the Transform Pad, where you can click and drag between sound variations.
As well as rolling out the 10.2 update to Logic Pro X, Apple is also preparing to rollout updates to Logic Remote in the form of 1.2.2 for iPad and MainStage version 3.2 via the Mac App Store. Similar to the previous update, it is completely free for all existing owners of the software.
As far as controls, Apple is also aiming to make this tool more accessible to users that aren’t fully versed in the intricacies of synth techniques and has introduced a number of performance controls in this update to help users build and adjust their sounds more easily.
Other new features include the ability to share directly to Apple Music Connect, support for the Force Touch trackpad, the ability to create custom track icons, and more.

Users can also now download content worth 14GB to be used with Logic Pro X, with the content including thousands of sounds that, according to Apple, is heavily aimed towards users creating trap, hi-hop and EDM.
