Detectives retrieved the 17-year-old victim’s cell phone with consent from the victim’s mother on Friday morning.

Sheerer was jailed on $40,000 cash bail, and Ocean County Superior Court Judge barred him from further contact with Chelsea O’Donnell or any of her family members.

Each charge against Sheerer carries a possible penalty of five years in prison. Parents everywhere make mistakes, and Rosie is no exception to this; if she thought her daughter Chelsea was with friends, there would have been no reason to expect that her daughter was with someone with a prior criminal record. He was later convicted on those charges.

The prosecutor’s statement did not identify the minor, but police said Chelsea O’Donnell was found in Sheerer’s home. E! News just recently confirmed that 17-year old was found at the home of Steven Sheerer. She was then taken to the Barnegat Township Police headquarters.

Chelsea, like millions of people, lives with mental illness“, said Ms Berger at the time. Police say Sheerer had met Chelsea previously when she was staying in Long Beach Island. Chelsea, who is mentally ill, is also underage, and apparently Rosie ODonnell is frightened for for her daughter. Chelsea O’Donnell has been missing since August 11.

They said: “She is being brought back to Nyack right now and everything is fine with her. She is in good health”. After days of vague-tweeting about the disappearance, the former talk show host put out a public message and involved law enforcement in her search to bring her daughter home.

The Rockland County Sheriff’s Department in New York had requested that a police officer check on houses in Barnegat, 70 miles south of New York City, according to police lieutenant Keith German. So Rosie O’Donnell decided to respond to a comment on Twitter who asked how the incident could have happened.
