LAPD: Amber Alert issued for girl taken by armed father

– An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night by the California Highway Patrol at the request of the Los Angeles Police Department for a 2-year-old girl.

Officers in the Rampart spotted the suspect and both Issa and his wife were arrested without incident, LAPD Lt. Bob Long told KNX news.

The child was taken at 2:05 p.m. Wednesday from Los Angeles.

The victim has brown hair, brown eyes, stands at approximately 2 feet tall and weighs approximately 35 pounds.

Her father is described as a 5-foot-11-inch Middle Eastern man with brown hair and green eyes weighing about 165 pounds.

Long says the father, Louai Issa (loo-AYE ee-suh), showed the gun and took the girl away in a silver Honda CRV that was driven by a another man. The SUV has a partial license plate reading W122. He was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans when last seen and should be considered armed and risky, according to the CHP, which issued the Amber Alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.
