‘Midwestern girl’ Paula Faris brings new outlook to ‘The View’

“I’m really anticipating this next venture on “The View” and bringing some Midwest sensibilities to the show”. So they gave her the gig back.

The one woman show recounts her boisterous childhood in Brooklyn, and also explores the comedian’s life, from her stand-up work and sitcom appearances, to her 16 years as co-host of “The View“. She later became a permanent co-host until she left in August 2013, but appeared as a guest host occasionally.

Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure is also adding another job to her career as a co-host with “The View“.

The other new hire is Paula Faris, 39, a reporter for ABC News.

Barbara Walters herself doesn’t seem poised for a return to “The View“, but she issued a prepared statement that was part of ABC’s announcement on Tuesday.

Behar, Cameron Bure and Faris will join returning moderator Whoopi Goldberg and co-hosts Raven-Symoné and Michelle Collins for the show’s 19th season that begins Tuesday, September 8. As a matter of fact, it was the second paragraph of the press release.

Hey! Look who is set to enjoy The View once again! Rosie Perez, Rosie O’Donnell and Nicolle Wallace all left after last season.

Shepherd will join with fellow contributors Padma Lakshmi, Stacy London, Ana Navarro and Molly Sims to weigh in on topics including politics, style and health, ABC said. The latter three, representing 75 percent of the show’s on-air talent, are all gone now – which might make this new revamp the most comprehensive in the show’s history.
