As Star Trek Beyond boldly goes where no one has gone before, it’s also taking a moment to reflect on its past.

Leonard Nimoy may have gone into the Beyond, but his presence is still felt today.
The video is part of the “Star Trek: To Go Boldly” campaign, which highlights nine different charities personally selected by different “Star Trek Beyond” cast members.
For the final week of Omaze’s Star Trek Beyond charity campaign, Zachary Quinto pays tribute to Leonard Nimoy, the actor who originated the role of Spock in the science fiction franchise. “Through his legendary portrayal of Spock, he influenced countless scientists and artists, myself and the rest of the cast included”.
Following his emotional tribute, the actor then called upon his fans to support the very same charity that Nimoy himself was an advocate and supporter of. In a move Nimoy would certainly be proud of, the campaign spotlights one of Nimoy’s favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
According to their Facebook page, Omaze is an organization that offers “once-in-a-lifetime experiences that benefit charitable causes”.

Directed by Justin Lin, “Star Trek Beyond” also stars Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho and Idris Elba. The campaign ends on Monday, September 1, and fans who want to win a trip to the set must donate $10 or more.
