Nolan’s 157th and final appearance in the Hammers’ claret and blue came in Saturday’s Premier League 4-3 home defeat by Bournemouth.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic recently held discussions with Nolan over his future with the 33-year-old among their highest earners on about £50,000 per week.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail report that the club are lining up Joey Barton as a replacement for the departing midfielder, just weeks after the ex-QPR man was told that the club would not sign him following a backlash from the club’s fans.

“It was disappointing going out of the team after coming away with a good victory at the Emirates Stadium”, he added.

“Disappointing for me, but it’s all about showing what you can do on the training pitch, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do, trying to get the performances in when I can, and try and keep in the team”. I want to be playing and give my all in training.

“I have had a number of consultation meetings with specialists in London, accompanied by members of the club’s medical staff, and they have always kept me updated me on my injury”, he said in a statement.

“It’s the whole aspect of conceding the four goals the way we did, the little sloppy errors that we made – it’s just all-round disappointment”.
