Man Utd Look To Hijack Man City’s Move For Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester United are said to be weighing up a £55million offer for Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin De Bruyne in an attempt to beat cross-city rivals Manchester City to his signature, the Daily Express reports.

However, their close neighbours are now trying to put a spanner in Manchester City’s works as it has been claimed that the Red Devils have now entered the chase for De Bruyne.

However, The Telegraph claims that Munich could strike a deal with Wolfsburg by allowing the player to remain with the German runners-up next summer, when they will then buy him.

United need a striker as a priority, and arguably a centre-back as their second biggest need, and De Bruyne is neither.

If van Gaal’s interest is genuine, it throws up some questions.

According to reports from the German media, Manchester United have stepped in to sign the former Chelsea attacking midfielder.

The Citizens are aware that Manchester United have the financial muscle to go toe-to-toe with them for De Bruyne’s signature.

With Adnan Januzaj’s re-emergance as well as the wonderful prospect that is Andreas Pereira all around the side too, De Bruyne is seemingly not needed at Old Trafford.
