Rosie O’Donnell says daughter is found

On Tuesday, Rosie’s longtime publicist, Cindi Berger, confirmed that Chelsea’s disappearance was especially worrisome to her family (she has four siblings) because she suffers from mental illness and had not taken her meds.

Rosie O’Donnell, who lives in South Nyack, spoke to WCBS 2, explaining, “Seven days, she’s been gone and she’s very mentally ill”. Rosie is also a mom to Parker, 20 (whom she adopted as a single mom), Blake, 15, and Vivienne, 12 (with Kelli) and Dakota, 2 (with ex-wife Michelle Rounds). Earlier reports, including a statement from O’Donnell’s publicist that Barnegat Light police were involved and she was found in Barnegat Light were in error. “Any information please contact authorities”, O’Donnell wrote, and she listed a police number, which is now busy.

O’Donnell tweeted that her daughter may be in New York City, which is about 40km south of her home in Nyack.

A police hunt began on Sunday (16Aug15) and Chelsea was located in New Jersey two days later.

Chelsea’s biological mother blames O’Donnell for not watching out for her child, and for much more than that. He said Rosie and Chelsea didn’t fight immediately before the teen left home, but have a turbulent relationship.

Chelsea left the family home with her six-month-old dog called Bear.

O’Donnell’s publicist fought back saying the adoption was done completely by the books and that O’Donnell has even “encouraged and supported Chelsea’s desire to communicate with her birth mother”.

A statement about the situation was posted to a blog on O’Donnell’s website Tuesday. “The dog is a 9 lbs. brown and black terrier”, explained the website entry.

Keith Germain said that when officers went to the residence, the person answering the door initially did not want to reveal Chelsea’s presence.
