The flight from Kingston, Jamaica, had landed at JFK at around 8:45 a.m. ET and was arriving to the gate when the brouhaha broke out. A 61-year-old woman apparently got out of a window seat before the plane got to the gate and tried to climb over another woman.
A Linden woman faces charges of using pepper spray during a dispute that erupted as she was about to exit an airliner at Newark Liberty global Airport, authorities say.
Ballentine then punched the other woman, Mary Cannady, 52, in the face, and when a man seated across the aisle intervened, Ballentine slashed him in the elbow with an eyebrow razor, authorities said.
As the noxious gas filled the plane, the pilot made a decision to open the cabin door and have the suspect escorted from the plane.
A razor like this one was used to slash a male passengers arm, according to port authority police.
All on board were detained in the customs baggage area and interviewed by Port Authority police, Pentangelo said.
Seven people were treated for difficulty breathing, Pentangelo said.
Cannady pulled pepper spray out of her purse and sprayed Ballentine before both women were arrested, NJ.com quotes Pentangelosaying.
